Ways To Overcome Anxiety and Win Back Control of Your Mind

With the demands of everyday life taking its toll, it is easy for people to become stressed and anxious. Throw a worldwide pandemic into the mix, and it’s near enough impossible to avoid a crippling sense of anxiety. Anxiety comes when we feel out of control. It’s safe to say that 2020 has been a whole load of stuff outside of our control. With that in mind, the way to overcome anxiety is to focus on the things that are within our control. How to Stencil Your Floor Tiles With Frenchic

This is a post that I have been meaning to do for months, but I wanted to wait for a while to test out the paints durability on a well used floor first. During lockdown, DIY has gone through the roof and I was no exception to this. I have hated our hallway tiles since we bought the house, but we have made do with them, until now. During lockdown I decided to give them a revamp with Frenchic Al Fresco paint. If this is something you have considered doing, then keep reading.

Menstrual Cups | My Experience

I won't lie, this is not something I ever thought I would be discussing on my blog, but here we are. I was inspired by my friend Sarah's post on period pants for this one - thank you Sarah! I figured a bit of a background would be the best way to kick start this journey into menstrual cups.

Five UK Staycation Ideas That Are Perfect With Kids

This year has been a tricky one, and the different holidays that many of us planned never quite got the chance to come to fruition. While some people are taking the risk and heading abroad, there are still many who prefer to stay a bit closer to home. After all, with such rapidly changing lockdown and quarantine rules, not all of us can afford to spend 14 days in self-isolation when we return from a holiday!

Roaccutane | My Journey

Well this is a post that I never, ever thought that I would be writing; it is probably about 16 years overdue in all honesty. My skin has always been a huge insecurity of mine - not many people see me without makeup and if they do, then I probably trust them with my life.

Three years. Three whole years of you, my little whirlwind. I say it every year but this has gone so fast. You spent most of your third year of your life in lockdown, but you have thrived so much.

The Best Organic Lipstick For Me

Why I Gave Up Synthetic Lipstick
I used to use generic, non-organic lipstick because it was easy to find and I had no idea anything else existed. While it worked, generic lipstick made my lips hurt and gave off an unnatural texture and appearance.

Post-Birth Pain: The Part Of The Marathon You Weren't Prepared For

Giving birth is, without a doubt, the most amazing thing any woman can do. The experience of bringing new life into the world is literally top of the miracles scale, and it can change your outlook like few other life experiences. But, as most of us are aware, the experience will inevitably involve pretty high pain levels.
That’s why most of us do what we can to prepare. From heavy breathing right through to squats and positive hypnobirthing affirmations, a well-armed mum is, usually, in for the best possible experience. Yet, our prep typically ends there.

[AD] Peppa Pig: My First Concert Preview

For the last four years of my life, Peppa Pig has played a big part in it. My eldest absolutely loved Peppa and it was the only thing that she would happily sit and watch. Her younger sister soon followed suit and still loves it now; we have the books, clothes, and toys filling their room and we have enjoyed seeing Peppa in the cinema and in the theatre.

Photowall Wallpaper Mural Review

If you know me well, then you will know that I love interiors. I am always on the hunt for new home decor pieces and I am constantly looking for new decorating ideas online. You can imagine my delight when Photowall contacted me to see if I would like to review their mural wallpaper. Now, usually I am not a fan of mural wallpaper, but I had spotted an amazing design a few weeks before on Instagram which was from the same company, so I was desperate to get my hands on it.

Student Midwife Life | How To Survive Night Shifts

For the next few months I am working in a hospital for my placement; the shifts consist of long day shifts and night shifts. My mentor prefers night shifts, so the majority of the shifts I have done so far have been 19:30 starts until 08:00 the following morning.
Night shifts are not for everyone - you either love them or hate them. I had never done a night shift before this placement, so I wasn't sure what to expect. So far I am loving them, but there were a few things that I had to adjust in order to fully prepare myself for them and to ensure that I was safe to be working.

Looking For Your Next Family Vacation?

Life can be pretty darn hectic a lot of the time. Between work, school, socializing and everything else that you all have doing on, it can be incredibly difficult for you and your family to actually get the chance to just spend time with each other. It can sometimes feel as though you spend less time with the people in your family than just about anyone else, despite the fact that you all live under one roof. Not only is this a real shame but it can actually cause problems for you. A lot of the time the stress of life means that you'll want someone to talk to, but if your family is all too busy, then you won't get that chance. If you're all constantly taking on too much, the stress is going to just keep building until one of you eventually explodes! If this situation sounds even a little bit familiar then there's something important that your family needs to do as soon as possible: take a break. Take some time away together just to enjoy each other's company and get away from the rest of the world. With that in mind, here are a few family breaks that are perfect for reconnecting with those closest to you.
