As a parent, date nights are a rather rare occurence these days; tight purse strings and no babysitters can cause a challenge. Due to this, we have had to adjust our date nights - no more out on the town for dinner and drinks! Our date nights now consist of evenings in with a good film and a take away.
Movie/Series Marathon - this is definitely our most used indoor date night idea. We have been enjoying so many series' on our new hdr tv Panasonic such as Designated Survivor and The Handmaid's Tale. Our new HDR TV has definitely improved our film watching and it really does make you feel as though you are in the middle of the action. Add some popcorn and a hot dog or two and you may as well be at the cinema, but for a fraction of the cost.
Puzzle/Games Night - I love a good puzzle; Cluedo is definitely my favourite and my inner FBI agent comes out. We recently bought a 1,000 piece world map jigsaw (to help with my geography) and have yet to finish it so we will definitely have to get around to doing that soon. Gosh, how old do I sound?!
Cook Together - There is nothing better than food; especially a good home cooked meal. Get inventive in the kitchen together and whip up a three course meal - once it has been eaten settle down with a cosy blanket and enjoy a good film together.
Find a New Show - slightly linked to the first suggestion, but find a new show to watch together. My husband works away so it's always hard to keep up on a series together - we may have to each start watching an episode a night whilst apart to discuss come the weekend. Stray out of your comfort zone with a show; we tend to go for action or conspiracy based shows. However you may find a new addiction if you branch out a little.
If you have any other ideas for indoor date night ideas for me to try, please let me know. Hopefully it won't be much longer until we can enjoy a date night outdoors!
