Sleep hasn't been a known concept for me over the last eight months; Florrie is the ultimate sleep thief and she definitely thinks it is for the weak. I plan on sharing a post about our sleeping arrangements in the next few weeks but wanted to share an item that has definitely helped, especially with nap times and self soothing.
I have been a fan of Summer Infant since Aoife was a newborn - we actually had Slumber Buddies Bella the Butterfly for her but it didn't last long enough for us to use for her little sister. I have always had a good experience with their sleep range, so you can imagine my delight when a Slumber Melodies Bear arrived on my doorstep for Florrie.
Florrie's biggest issue with sleep is self soothing - this is something that she cannot and will not do. She will only fall asleep if she is being held in my arms or if her hand is touching my arm. If this isn't happening then it's a losing battle.
One of the main features of the Slumber Melodies Bear is that it is cry activated; so no need to run into the nursery to turn it on when the little one starts to become unsettled. You have a choice of six different sounds which include white noise, womb sounds and nature - our personal favourite is womb sounds which also worked on Aoife back in the day.
The bear has a hook and loop strap on its back so it is easily portable to bring along and attach to prams, play pens and car seats too.
We have been trialing this at nap time over the last couple of weeks and it has started to work - it did take a while, but what used to be 30 minute naps have now stretched out to 1 hour to an hour and a half as she is able to settle herself before she fully wakes.
Whilst it hasn't completely helped with the sleepless nights, it has definitely shown an improvement which I am more than happy with.
If you know any mums to be then I would definitely recommend the Slumber Melodies Bear - with an RRP of £19.99 it is a bargain!

exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my
