Perfection

“Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it.” ― Salvador Dalí

Society today is all for being "perfect" - the perfect body, hair, smile. Just being perfect. But what exactly is perfect? Everyone has their own views on perfection. Something that may be perfect to one person may not be perfect to another.

So many young children today are striving to reach societies ideals which is very disheartening. Girls in their early teens could pass as being in their twenties with the clothes and make-up that they wear. Young boys are pushing themselves too hard at the gym to get that "perfect" muscle figure.
Why is society now so focused on being looks perfect? What happened to being smart, business minded and independent?

Back when I was in school it wasn't seen as "cool" to study or to read as a past time. I used to be such a book worm until I reached secondary school - I then stopped this in my attempt to fit in and be "perfect". Now I wish that I had stayed true to myself and will be ensuring that as my daughter grows up she does not feel the need to try and reach these impossible ideals that society has now implanted in people's minds.

The best you can be is yourself.
