[AD] Bluestone Winter Lights

We were recently contacted by Bluestone to see if we would like to head for a weeks break and experience their Winter Lights show. The last time we visited Bluestone I was pregnant with Florrie, so I jumped at the chance to be able to let her experience the amazing resort. My cousin decided to join us again like last time, along with her little girl.

The accommodation, as always, was fantastic. We stayed in a Skomer lodge which consisted of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen/diner and a handy snug upstairs for the kids to chill out and watch a DVD.
We actually had some of our family visiting Bluestone the same week as us and they were placed in a lodge a few doors up which was lovely!
I truly believe that any photos I have taken of the Winter Lights show does not do it justice at all. The children, and us adults, were mesmerized. Aoife loved the fairy village last time we visited, and she was even more excited to see the work that the fairies had done to the Enchanted Trail since she had visited last; their village was lit up and she was adamant that she saw a fairy sitting on my shoulder!
As we walked along the trail, we came across owls, a snake, a laughing tree, giant bugs and so much more. Florrie was in awe at everything she saw and Aoife just couldn't believe that the fairies and Merlin the Wizard had done so much work!
I was initially worried about how the pushchairs would hold out going through the woods; we had an 18 month old and a 4 month old to navigate through the woods, along with an almost 4 year old. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the path was perfectly acceptable for prams which came as a big relief.
I do believe that any child, regardless of their age, would enjoy this - especially those with big imaginations like Aoife. I have never seen her more excited at trying to spot the fairies in their lanterns and pointing out all of the illuminated animals.
Plus, an hours walk in the fresh air resulted in a night of uninterrupted sleep, which is always a winner!
Bluestone are currently taking bookings for their Winter Lights 2020 if you wish to experience it for yourselves.
During our stay in Bluestone we made plenty of use out of the Activity Centre, took a day trip to Folly Farm, and of course, took a trip to Camp Smokey! It's always one of our favourite things about Bluestone; although I was disappointed to see that the Pulled Pork burger is no longer on the menu! I had been craving one for 2 years since I was last there, but the hot dog made up for it!
We were very, very lucky to have been invited to stay by Bluestone. I am all for supporting local companies and am a big lover of free range fun. There is nothing better than seeing your children appreciating the outdoors and getting stuck into nature like I used to do when I was younger.
Thank you Bluestone - we hope to be able to visit again!

*Our Bluestone stay was gifted to us by Bluestone. However all thoughts and opinions are my own*
