"We believe in dressing up in gorgeously impractical things, like tulle, sequins, sparkles and lace"
With Florrie's first birthday coming up, along with a whole host of other events, trying to find the perfect party dresses for two little girls is no mean feat; especially when the eldest is so damn fussy.
Luckily for us Roco Clothing offered to send us a few pieces for each of the girls. Having worked with Roco Clothing before, I knew that their stuff was beautifully made and unique.
Going through their website was so difficult as everything was just so beautiful, but eventually I chose the Rosella dress in Silver for Florrie, along with the Sara Bolero in White. For Aoife I was immediately drawn to the Opal dress in Blush with the Petunia shoes in Peach which matched the dress perfectly.
It is very rare that Florrie is in a dress - I remembered from when Aoife was little just how impractical they are when your baby is on the move so she doesn't have many. But I figured that she only turns one once, so why not go all out with a princess dress?
The Rosella dress is available in five different colours; silver, pink, white, champagne and ivory. I decided on the silver dress to compliment her fair skin tone and red hair - pink tends to wash her out and the other colours were too christening like for me. Whilst it may not be too clear in the photo, the silver version looks slightly blue too which I love! Whilst I didn't manage to get a photograph of the back of the dress, it has a gorgeous sash which ties up into a bow. We were sent the size 12-18 months for Florrie which fits her lovely with some room to grow too.
The Sara bolero is the perfect finishing touch to the outfit and comes in both white and ivory. The capped sleeves are gorgeous and the pearl button detail is timeless.
I cannot wait for her to wear this, especially for her first birthday - she will be the star of the show!
When I saw the Opal dress I instantly fell in love - if you know me then you will know that I love embellishments and beading on clothing. The dress comes in two colour options of pink and white - I decided on the pink as I felt the embellishments would stand out a lot more and they certainly do!
Aside from the embellishments, my favourite part of the dress are the flutter sleeves; they are so flattering and slightly different to the usual styles out there.
We were sent age 3 to 4 for Aoife, which fits her perfectly. Although I hope she doesn't grow too much as I would love for her to wear this dress to a wedding we have at the beginning of next year.
We were also sent the Petunia shoes which compliment the dress perfectly. Inspired by ballerinas, the shoes have a elegant lace and beading embellishment across the front and a rose gold elastic cross over ankle strap. These are slightly too big for Aoife, but she is between sizes at the minute so she has plenty of time to grow into them.
Once the dress was on her, Aoife started dancing and jumping around like a little ballerina. I think it is safe to say that these outfits are a definite hit and will be put to a lot of good use over the next few months.
Currently Roco Clothing are running their biggest competition yet. As a celebration of the recent Royal Wedding, they are giving away a weekend in London for two. The prize includes a two night stay in a Central London hotel, travel to London, tickets to the London Eye, tickets to the Buckingham Palace Mews, and Afternoon Tea for two. The competition is being shared across their social media platforms and closes on the 18th of June. To be in with a chance of winning, just take a look at their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
