Since becoming a mum, I have become very conscious of what my daughters consume with their food and drinks. Neither of the girls have ever touched a fizzy drink, and hopefully never will, and only have juices when we are eating out. At home and at school they will only drink water; luckily they both love it so we have never had any issues.
Recently, I came across water distillers and started to read up on them. I never really knew what was in the water that we drink and was rather shocked. The Megahome Water Distiller is a piece of equipment that produces high quality water through the process of distillation; this process removes contaminants that boiling water leaves behind, such as heavy metals and salts. Distilled water is 99.9% pure water, which is a whole lot better for you than straight from the tap water or filtered water.
The distiller produces four litres of pure water in five to six hours, and can produce sixteen litres in a day. All that you need to do is fill it with water and let it run. The machine does the rest and the pure water drips out; it also turns itself off automatically which is a bonus for myself as I always forget everything!
The fact that it is compact enough to stay on the top of our kitchen counter is also beneficial to me; it means that I don't forget to top it up with water each morning.
I was always worried incase the water would taste a bit "off" or different to what I was used to. Turns out that I didn't need to worry at all; the water tastes no different which is great. Knowing what I know now about straight tap water, I don't think I could ever go back to drinking un-distilled water.
