Xtava Twist Curling Wand Review and Giveaway

Ever since I was younger, I was desperate to have long, thick hair so that I could style it in loads of different ways. It has now taken me around ten years to get my hair to a length and a condition of which I am, somewhat, happy with.
When I was a teenager, poker straight hair was all the rage and, to keep "in style", I succumbed to it, despite it not flattering me at all. It took a few years of experimenting with my hair for me to realise that a wavy style suited me best.
When I was asked to review the Xtava Twist Curling Wand, I couldn't say no. My current curling wand produced rather tight curls due to the narrow curling barrel; these wouldn't drop into waves until the next day which prolonged my hair styling regime. As the Xtava Wand has a tapered barrel which is larger, I knew that the end result would be what I was looking to achieve; loose, effortless waves.
Firstly, I must admit I am an absolute sucker for pretty packaging. The geometric packaging that the wand arrived in is beautiful and just up my street! Once you open this, you are presented with a sleek black magnetic box of which I think is perfect to keep the wand stored in.
The Xtava Twist Curling Wand has twenty two heat settings in order for you to style different types of hair, ranging from 80c to 210c. Xtava even provide a handy heat guide to help you out;
- Delicate, thin hair: 80c to 123c
- Normal hair: 123c to 166c
- Coarse, thick hair: 166c to 210c
My favourite function has to be the sixty minute automatic shut-off function; this alone is a God send as I am forever wondering if I remembered to turn my hair appliances off or not.
As a mum of two, with no time of my own to do anything for myself, the standard "mum bun" has become my signature look. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how quick the wand was to heat up and to use. My hair is rather thick, but I managed to create natural looking waves all over within fifteen minutes.
I was also impressed with the heat resistant glove and travel bag. The amount of times that I have burnt my fingers whilst curling my hair is unbelievable; also having to wait for appliances to cool down before you are able to put them away becomes tedious. At least now I don't have to worry about either of these issues.
As you can see, the final result was exactly what I wanted to achieve; loose, "I woke up like this" waves.
You can opt to have tighter, more defined curls by using the narrower part of the wand barrel if you prefer.
Xtava have also, very generously, given me the chance to spread the good hair day vibes by giving my readers the chance to win their own Xtava Twist Curling Wand!
