Busy B Pregnancy Journal Review and Giveaway.

When I was pregnant with Aoife I did my best to keep a pregnancy and baby journal to document my whole journey; the journal that I chose to use was absolutely huge and I am still adding bits to it over two years after she has been born. I know that once it is finished it will be lovely to look back on and an amazing keepsake, but I certainly do not have the time or the energy to complete anything like that again.
I was recently sent a beautiful Pregnancy Journal from Busy B, whom I have been an absolute fan of for years! Because of Busy B my life is somewhat organised with their gorgeous diaries and calendars. If you haven't checked them out before and you are a stationary addict like myself, then you definitely need to!
The main thing that I love about the Busy B Pregnancy Journal was that it is nowhere near as thick as my previous one, which means I don't need to spend years filling it out. It is a perfect, manageable size and not too detailed, but still has enough detail there for you to document the key aspects of your pregnancy journey.

The journal is separated into four main sections; diary, planning, birth, and early days. There is also a small section at the start for you to pop down your emergency numbers, your blood group etc which is always handy to have ready.

Diary.. The diary section is separated week by week, starting at four weeks and ending at forty. On each page you have the following subheadings to jot down a few lines;
- How I feel
- What I've been upto
- Appointments
- Cravings
There is also a little section for each week letting you know how big the baby is, which is a lovely touch! Currently, at 29 weeks my baby is the size of a butternut squash!

The fact that there is only a few lines too is reassuring; it's been hard for me to go back and fill Aoife's book in as I can barely remember what I did but as there is so much space it can look silly with a couple of things jotted down; the Busy B journal is much easier to fill!
Planning.. This section is fantastic and I really wish I had one when I was pregnant with Aoife. It has sections for you to note down any questions you may have to ask your midwife, things that you need to do before the baby arrives and even baby shower planning.
Birth.. This is definitely a section that I think is so important. I'm so glad that I was able to obtain a copy of my notes from when I was in labour with Aoife to be able to add to her pregnancy journal; it's amazing to look back on as at the time I certainly wasn't in any fit state to be taking notes. If you are able to, I highly recommend taking a peek at your notes once the baby is born and take a snap of them to transfer over. There's also a section for you to be organised and make a list for your hospital bag, which is great to make sure that you don't forget anything.

Early Days.. My absolute favourite part to any pregnancy journal; I absolutely loved filling this in for Aoife and had all of her photos made into stickers to make it easier. I still add to it this day with memories for us to look back on when she is older. The Busy B Journal provides a good few blank pages for you to add whatever you want to; photos, foot/hand prints etc. There is also a few things to fill out such as first outfit and first visitors, along with a section for routine and feeding times.
At the end of each section there is a handy storage pocket that can be used to pop scan photos in, your babies hospital band and anything else you may wish to keep a hold of. That is the one thing Aoife's journal lacked in so I had to sellotape everything in which certainly doesn't look too pretty.

If you are expecting or know someone who is, I highly recommend getting this - it's a lovely gender neutral style and not too over the top at all. I found a lot of pregnancy journals were very old fashioned looking or covered in teddy bears; whilst some people do like this, it wasn't what I wanted.

The Busy B Pregnancy Journal retails at £11.99 and can be found here. You can also test your luck out as Busy B have very kindly provided an extra journal for me to giveaway to a lucky reader. If you fancy entering, you can do via Rafflecopter below!
