My 10 Happy Things.

I am all about happiness; be it in your job, relationship, well being etc. Happiness definitely does make the world go round and makes life a lot easier.

I was recently nominated by the lovely Nadia at Scandi Mummy to take part in the 'My 10 Happy Things' series and I'm glad she did! It has given me some time to sit down and think about what truly makes me happy.

After a lot of thought, here they are!

Aoife - Let's be honest here, I would be deemed as a pretty crappy parent if my daughter didn't make it onto this list; there are days when she frustrates me, but I honestly do not know what I would do without her. She's my sidekick and my best friend, where I go she goes, even if she hates it! I don't know how I've managed to bring her up for her to turn out the way she has, but she truly is my number one.
The Husband - I guess he has to have a mention too seeing as he has endured me for the last four years of his life. We annoy the hell out of each other, and life was definitely easier when he worked away for 8 weeks at a time. But he is a fantastic cleaner so he can stay for a bit longer if he wishes.

Rain - This would not usually come onto any sort of 'happy' list for me, but this is the first time I have ever been pregnant during warm weather. Last week we had a mini heatwave and my god I could have cried. I was a sweaty, heat rash covered, irritable mess - it was horrible.

Sleeping Alone - I must sound awful, but I love a bed to myself. Anything so that I can starfish to my hearts content, especially now as sleep is hard to come by as I cannot get myself comfortable anymore. Sleep in general is also a winner for me; I am most certainly not a morning person.

Holidays - With my job I have been very fortunate to travel to places that I would never have been able to afford to go to before. It makes it even better now that Aoife and Baby 2 will get to experience this too; we are already looking into Orlando for next year and I really fancy an adult's weekend away to San Francisco at some point.
Friends - Over the last couple of years, I have truly discovered who my real friends are and have cut a lot of people out of my life; I have also burned bridges with old friends and got friendships back on track - this is something that I will always be grateful for. I've made friends through many different circles; work, mum friends and blogging friends too. They're all fantastic in their own ways and I wouldn't be without them now.

Writing - I don't get a chance to do it often as life does get in the way, but when I do get a spare evening, I relish in writing a blog post. I always try and put 100 per cent into everything I write and I really do hope that this comes across to those who read it.

Shopping - If there is one thing on this post that my husband would agree with, it's this one. Argh I don't know why I do it, but I do! I look forward to a Primark trip for some new treats and get giddy over candles and soft furnishings. Don't even get me started on bedding - I still do not understand how I am not bankrupt. This is the exact reason as to why I refuse to take out a credit card.

Family - I must say, I really do have a good family around me. There have been times where some of us haven't seen eye to eye, but ultimately we are there for each other and will always have each other's backs. There are a few family members that are no longer in my life and that's okay too, as I am more than happy with the family that are still here for me. I can, hand on heart, say that I would give the world to them if I could.
Takeaways - This is mine and my husband's vice; nothing beats a good takeaway! We recently bought a house that has a Fish and Chip shop three doors down - the only reason I am not in there every day is because they do not take card and I never have cash on me.

I would love to hear about the ten things that make you happy.

For this series I will be tagging my lovely cousin Amy over at Being Mrs Meems.
